Patmos and Olive Students Create Memories at JS Prom 2026
Grade 10 and Grade 11 students of MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) enjoyed a night in full bloom as they attended the Junior-Senior Promenade 2026 at New World Makati Hotel last March 27.
With the whole ballroom decked out like an enchanted garden, the program opened with the processional as the students stepped through an arch into the flower-filled venue.
This was followed by Junior High School Supervisor Karen Fulgencio’s opening remarks, highlighting how the prom’s theme, “A Night in Full Bloom,” symbolized growth, transformation, and the beauty of each student’s journey.
Afterwards, Patmos students Kyle Maverick Chua and Sophia Jadrine Sy were awarded the titles of Mr. and Ms. Junior, while Olive students Rafael Joaquin Hilario and Mariel Tiffany Sih were named Mr. and Ms. Senior. Continuing the tradition, the previous year’s Ms. Alma Mater, Zion student Faith Caitlin Ng, crowned this year’s awardee, Olive student Carissa Maegan Chiong.
MGCNLCA alumni and now husband-and-wife Edison Jeffrey Chow and Margaux Janelle Chow of Batch 9 then delivered their testimony, sharing the story of their relationship and how God guided them to finding the right life partner.
The event also featured performances from Patmos bands Heels that Heal and Golden, a solo by Olive student Leiff Nathanael Guntiñas, and audio-visual presentations from each batch reminiscing about the students’ memories together.
The program continued with the candle-lighting ceremony, which symbolized the turnover of responsibility from the Olive students to the Patmos students and served as a timely reminder to the students to continue shining their light as they take on new challenges.
Soon after, selected students showcased their graceful dance moves with the much-awaited cotillion. The formal program ended with the same-day edit video of the event and Olive students Kurt Malcolm Sotingco and Alessi Johanna Chua being crowned the King and Queen of the Night.
The night concluded with an after-party where students were able to enjoy drinks and spend time with their friends until midnight.
