MGCNLCA Welcomes Students for S.Y. 2026–2027

The halls of MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) buzzed with excitement as New Lifers returned to campus from July 13 to 16, 2026 for the first day of school year 2026–2027, guided by the theme “Called to Establish.”

MGCNLCA’s doors opened for Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) students on July 13, with Grades 2 to 6 students coming in on the following day. Finally, the Early Years and Grade 1 students came in small groups from July 14 to 16.

In an effort to create a more efficient and learner-centered education system, the JHS Department will be implementing the Trimester System as proposed by the Department of Education, providing students with three grading periods instead of four in the previous semester system. The school expects a smooth transition as the school’s Lower and Upper Primary Years levels have been operating under a trimester calendar in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

In addition, MGCNLCA will also be implementing the Strengthened SHS Curriculum for the incoming Grade 11 students, in which they are sectioned into clusters. Students will take cluster electives along with five core subjects taught across the entire year. Meanwhile, the Grade 12 students will complete their studies under the K-12 Basic Education Program.

Beyond this, another major change is the improvements to the school’s sixth-floor lecture hall.  It has been leveled and completely renovated into a multi-purpose hall to be more suitable for assemblies and events, maximizing the space’s flexibility and functionality.

This school year also marks the 35th founding anniversary of MGCNLCA. In celebration of this milestone, the school plans to hold various events such as the Alumni Homecoming, the Open House for students and parents, and the 35th Anniversary Musical will be held throughout the year.

“My prayer is that both our students and faculty will embrace three qualities: staying close to God, seeing themselves through God's eyes, and choosing faithfulness in the little things every day,” expressed School Principal Evangeline Co. “My desire is that… we will not only celebrate accomplishments but also celebrate lives firmly established in Christ.”
