Families Stay Anchored in Love at LifeCamp Family Edition 2025

Over 400 attendees from 102 MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) families forged deeper bonds during LifeCamp Family Edition 2025 at CCT Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center from April 16 to 19, 2025.

With the theme “Lifeboat: Anchored in Love” and guided by the camp’s theme verse, Ephesians 3:17-19, the camp featured topics that demonstrated how the laws of natural science can parallel God’s love, His purpose, and their impact on family dynamics.

The four-day camp commenced with an opening ceremony and acquaintance games, followed by the first session about Murphy’s Law, where Rev. Harg Timothy Ang explored “antidotes” to combat the chaos of family relationships.

During the next two sessions, Far East Broadcasting Company Philippines hosts Atty. Winnie and Maloi Salumbides, along with their children Bea and Blessie, delivered engaging messages on Newton’s Law and the Laws of Thermodynamics. They shed light on strategies to remain connected with one’s family and God, and the five travelling essentials when journeying through family life.

Meanwhile, the fourth session had Bishop Reuben Abante, Senior Pastor at Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church, share about the foundation, structure, and furnishings of a Christ-centered home.

Campers then divided into groups by life stage for the first family activity, featuring speakers Jeffrey Manhilot from Inspire Leadership Consultancy for the parents’ group, School Directress Helen Villanueva for the seniors’ group, Atty. Jared Amoroso for college students, young professionals, and singles, and MGCNLCA alumni Daniel James Lim and Abigail Marie Lim for Grade 6 to 12 students.

The second family activity then allowed families to bond over taho and dirty ice cream at five game stations, and then craft and sail their own family lifeboats made of recyclable materials. Clinching the family activity, School Principal Evangeline Co encouraged families to let Jesus be the anchor of their boats in order to remain strong throughout life’s fiercest storms.

The last night of the LifeCamp featured the final session and dedication night led by Rev. Ang, with families committing themselves to the Lord in one of three ways: assurance of salvation, life dedication, and full-time dedication. A bonfire with praise and worship and a game night closed the evening. The next day, the camp concluded with a heartfelt testimony sharing and the closing ceremony.

First-time attendee and MGCNLCA parent Jeannie Chan shared that the camp allowed their family to spend quality time together. “[At home], you’re always in your own rooms, your own corners, so even if you’re in one house, you still do your own thing,” she explained. “[But during this camp], we got together to talk, and then just share.”

Lara Jean Chan, her daughter, added, “[The family devotion] was finally a time where I could gather with the family alone and then talk about God’s Word, and also kind of get to know each other … so [it] was really a time we [could] dedicate for the Lord and for the family.”
