Empowering Global Change: Grade 6 Students Hold 3rd IB PYPx

“No matter who you are, what age [you may be], or what your role is in the community, you can always [make a positive] impact, no matter how big or small.”

As verbalized by Jordan student Sasha Chloe Go, this, in essence, is what the Grade 6 students learned and advocated for at the 3rd International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Exhibition (IB PYPx) held at the auditorium and gymnasium from April 7 to 8, 2025.

Guided by the theme “One Earth, One Future,” the Jordan students highlighted the importance of unity, responsibility, and action in addressing global contemporary issues and the lasting impact those current choices can leave on future generations.

The IB PYPx featured a variety of student-designed booths in the gymnasium, with each booth tackling one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Through these booths, students covered the different global issues faced by today’s world and provided possible action plans and measures that can be taken to solve them.

“We hope to see [the] Grade 6 learners emerge as more confident, reflective, and empowered learners—ready to take on new challenges with curiosity and courage. We hope they carry with them a strong sense of identity and purpose, knowing that their voices matter and that they can make a difference,” shared Grade 6 Level Coordinator Sheryl Mabini.

Moreover, the Jordan students also showcased their musical talents as they held a special performance in the auditorium, which included a recorder musical recital, followed by their very own batch song and dance number.

The IB PYPx serves as the annual culminating event of the IB PYP that showcases the students’ understanding and application of the transdisciplinary principles taught in the program, aiming to encourage students to take meaningful actions to shape a better world.
