The Olyssey and Berea Bears Emerge 23rd Ichthus Intramurals Champions

The Olyssey and Berea Bears topped their divisions during MGC New Life Christian Academy’s 23rd Ichthus Intramurals, held simultaneously as the Student Government’s annual Lifeweek from October 19 to 23.

On opening day, students proudly wore their respective batch shirts and showcased their batch unity through the much-awaited batch dance competition. The Berea Bears emerged victorious, followed by Zionova and Sour Patkids as the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The Intramurals proceeded with a series of intense competitions in badminton, basketball, chess, table tennis, and volleyball.

Lifeweek kicked off on Tuesday with a slumber party as students dressed in their comfiest pajamas. Simultaneously, Zionova and Berea Bears claimed victory in the cooking competition held later that afternoon.

Traveling far and wide across the multiverse, students dressed up as fictional characters on Wednesday, while a Brawl Stars tournament was held, where Zionova and Damadagascars emerged as the winners.

As time rewound on Thursday, students took a trip to the past and dressed up for Decades’ Day, recreating iconic looks throughout history. Meanwhile, Damadagascars and The Olyssey won the Junior and Senior Divisions of dodgeball.

Lastly, batches decorated their hallways according to their respective batch names. Berea Bears and Damadagascars tied in the Junior Division with a total of 54/60 points, while Zionova won the Senior Division with an astounding perfect score of 60/60 points.

As both events came to a close, Berea Bears claimed the overall championship in the Junior Division with 141 points, as Damadagascars followed behind with 132 points, and Nazarats with 111 points. Meanwhile, The Olyssey triumphed in the Senior Division with 127 points, as Zionova and Sour Patkids tied for second place with 125 points each.

Beyond the competition, Intramurals and Lifeweek gave students a chance to strengthen their bonds, foster batch unity, and create lasting memories. “These experiences are more than winning competitions. It is about learning teamwork, appreciating one another’s contributions, and celebrating what they can accomplish together,” remarked School Principal Evangeline Co.
