New Lifers Bag Awards in 12th YMUNT

MGC New Life Christian Academy’s Model United Nations (MUN) Varsity brought home multiple recognitions from the Yale MUN Taiwan (YMUNT), held in Taipei, Taiwan, last March 13 to 15.

Bianca Iyesha Sy of Zion and Olive students Justine Bryce Sigua and Yejoon Cho garnered the Best Delegate award in the United Nations Security Council, the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), and the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), respectively. 

Meanwhile, Sadie Bryanna Chen from Damascus received an Honorable Mention award in the United Nations Human Rights Council, while Adrian Zachary Liong from Olive received the same award in the COPUOS committee. 

Additionally, Zion students Gabrielle Ruth Hablero and Nadine Julianna Mateo served as Assistant Directors of the CSTD and the Council on Health Research for Development, respectively. Hablero also earned a Community Award for her exceptional contributions in her local MUN community.

Guided by the theme “Enrich, Empower, Excel,” the 12th YMUNT was a three-day conference meant to empower 350 attending delegates’ academic experience through fruitful discussions and debate on global issues.
