Human Nature CEO Shares Journey of Faith and Service
“Happiness comes from … knowing that you’re fulfilling God’s purpose in your life.”
Thus said Human Nature Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Dylan Wilk to senior high school students and parents during the Orcas Fellowship last November 27 at the Lecture Hall.
Wilk, who came from humble beginnings in the United Kingdom (UK), shared his story of how he became the ninth richest entrepreneur under age 30 by selling computer games. Despite amassing wealth and success, this failed to bring him lasting fulfillment.
In search of a deeper meaning to his life, Wilk accepted a friend’s invitation to join Gawad Kalinga, an organization that cares for those in need by restoring communities and alleviating poverty. He then left the UK and moved to the Philippines to volunteer for the organization. “When you hear [God] speak to you, you can trust Him no matter what He says,” he said as a reflection on his decision to stay in the Philippines.
Later on, Wilk, along with his wife and sister-in-law, founded Human Nature, a Christian company selling organic personal and household products. Grounded in biblical principles, the company commits to uplift the poor through its business practices and policies, such as strictly following Sunday as a rest day, encouraging employees to go to church. “If we want to change the Philippines, we have to change poverty and… corruption. And that means we have to change the way business is done,” emphasized Wilk.
To close, Wilk urged students to rely on God and place their faith in Him, as success comes from following His plans. Despite the challenges the entrepreneur faced, God remained faithful and paved the way for him to turn his life into a journey of faith and service.
