MGCNLCA Crowned Champions at FCAAF Table Tennis Tournament
The MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) table tennis teams emerged as overall champions at this year’s Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) Tournament, capturing the elementary girls title and securing several other podium finishes across multiple divisions last November 9 and 16.
In the elementary division, the girls’ team finished first in the team even after a consistent run throughout the tournament. Most Valuable Player Moira Cordova, together with Anica Lee, Elina Wong, and Angela Palaran, played with control and discipline, allowing them to take the top spot in their bracket. The boys’ team followed suit, bagging a solid second-place finish. Most Improved Player Jeremiah Key delivered clutch performances in his matches, along with Marco Hilario, Mathieu Manly, and Seth So.
In the high school division, the girls’ team finished in second place as the group of Rhian Hang, Gwyneth Recato Dy, Reese Hang, and Samantha Young powered through several close matches. The high school boys’ team battled hard, finishing third behind contributions from Lance Ngo, Matthew Vincent Go, Brendan Mancilla, Nigel Ang, and Hugh Ang.
MGCNLCA also picked up multiple medals in the singles events. In the high school girls category, Hang, who earned the Most Improved Player award, placed second, while Recato Dy finished third. In the elementary girls’ singles, Cordova placed second, and Palaran came in third after a competitive run.
