New Lifers Win Two MOS Awards, 19 Medals at FCAAF Swim Meet
The MGC New Life Christian Academy Swimming Team sprinted through the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation Long Course Swim Meet, claiming two Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) awards, 11 golds, eight bronzes, and an overall 3rd-place finish in the Girls Division last September 19 and 20 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Alexandra Francesca Wang
Leading the charge in the 10 & Under Girls Division, Wang swept five events, earning the MOS award. She also placed first in the 200-meter individual medley, 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter breaststroke, 400-meter freestyle, and the 200-meter freestyle.
Nicolle Writz So
As the other recipient of the MOS award, So also took home gold medals in the 200-meter individual medley, 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter breaststroke, 400-meter freestyle, and the 50-meter butterfly in the 11-12 Girls Division.
Nichelle Monique Dela Cruz
In the 13 - 14 Girls Division, Nichelle Dela Cruz sprinted her way to a gold medal in the 200-meter backstroke, finishing at the top of the podium.
Antonio Mikael Dela Cruz
In the 50-meter backstroke for the 10 & Under Boys Division, Antonio Dela Cruz battled his way to a third-place finish, securing another bronze for the New Lifers.
Relays
In the 12 & Under Girls Division, Wang, So, Preia Margaery Pua, and Anika Porsche Chua raced to third place in the 400-meter medley relay. Wang, So, Chua, and Jaden Chloe Amoroso followed with another bronze medal in the 200-meter freestyle relay in the Girls’ Juniors Division.
Meanwhile, Nichelle Dela Cruz, Brielle Dominique Ong, Brielle Marquisha Pua, and Solene Faith Wong finished third in the 200-meter medley relay and 800-meter freestyle relay in the 13 & Over Girls Division.
Nichelle Dela Cruz, Ong, Brielle Pua, and Rianne Avery Kho added two more bronze finishes in the 200-meter and 400-meter medley relays. Capping off the 13 & Over Girls Division were Nichelle Dela Cruz, Ong, Kho, and Stella Addison Yu with the last bronze in the 200-meter freestyle relay.
With the meet wrapped up, the swim team now turns its focus to sharpening its skills and building on its momentum as it sets its sights on upcoming competitions throughout the year.
