New Lifers Qualify for WRG 2026 in Japan
Members of MGC New Life Christian Academy's Robotics Varsity qualified for the World Robot Games (WRG) 2026 in Japan after their innovative robot designs secured multiple awards at the WRG Philippines 2026 which was held online competition last May 30.
Daniel Johan Yeung and Brendan Matheus Mancilla of Berea, along with Kiro Miroslav Choa of Damascus, bagged gold in the Artec Idea Contest Junior Category. In the same category, Elina Kate Wong of Jordan, Caleb Tan of Nazareth, and Ember Prinze Wong of Berea received silver, while Aaron Keane Lim and Austin Meng of Nazareth secured bronze. In addition, Erynn Kaia Wong of Jericho received gold in the Pre-Junior Category.
Meanwhile, in the Junior Category of the Innovation Contest, Michael Ryan Chong of Berea and Wong siblings Erynn, Elina, and Ember earned gold. Silver medals were awarded to Jade Maddison Limsoc and Zed Kaeden Tan of Nazareth, Skylar Freya Ang of Berea, and the duo of Mancilla and Choa. Furthermore, Samara Fionna Ang of Olive won a silver medal in the Senior Category of the same contest.
The WRG 2026 will be held in Chiba, Japan on November 16 to 19. It serves as an opportunity for young innovators to showcase their excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education through multiple robotics challenges.
