MGCNLCA Joins Pisay-dominated Finalists in Earth Science Olympiad 2025
Olive Student Leiff Nathanael Guntiñas is bound for Japan after placing among the Top 10 in the Philippine Earth Science Olympiad (PESO) 2026 held at the University of the Philippines Diliman last April 10.
Guntiñas, along with the rest of the finalists, will compete in the final round of PESO 2026, known as the Earth Science Festival (ESF), in Tsukuba, Japan from May 14 to 17.
Afterwards, the top four Philippine finalists in the ESF will represent the country in the 19th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) in Turin, Italy, from August 20 to 27.
The PESO is the Philippine qualifying round of the IESO, which is an international competition for secondary school students. Conducted by the International Geoscience Education Organization, it aims to elevate geoscience education and public awareness of Earth Sciences worldwide.
