New Lifer Places in Top 10 of 15th PGO

Olive student Justine Bryce Sigua qualified for the finals round of the 15th Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO) held at the University of the Philippines Diliman last February 28 to March 1.

Sigua, who placed fourth in last year’s PGO, advanced to the finals round after securing a spot in the Top 10 of the semifinals round. Fellow Olive student Ralph Jacob Fontarum, meanwhile,  also placed in the Top 30.

Other members of the MGC New Life Christian Academy delegation included Sachi Caitlyn Esteban from Damascus and Annika Nicole Tan from Patmos.

The PGO is a nationwide competition that tests high school students’ geographic thinking. This year’s Top 4 placers of the finals round will proceed to represent the Philippines at the International Geography Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey, this coming August 11 to 17.
