MGCNLCA Welcomes Over 60 Families to a New Journey

MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) welcomed 61 new families last September 3 at its annual New Families Welcome Gathering at the school auditorium. 

With the theme, “Together We Begin: A New Journey, A Shared Home,” the gathering encouraged parents to build meaningful connections with one another and embrace the school’s Christ-centered mission in nurturing their children’s growth.

In his opening remarks, Board of Trustees Chairman James Tioco emphasized the school’s commitment to helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually. As he welcomed the new families into the MGCNLCA community, he expressed his hope that the school would be more than a place of education, but also a space where lives are transformed. 

Following this, husband and wife Jerry and Kimberly Perez shared how the school’s supportive community helped their son, Galilee student Jacob Kai Perez, overcome the challenges of returning to school after the pandemic. They highlighted that a child’s growth extends beyond the family, nurtured by the support of their school community. 

“To all the new parents here, my encouragement is simple. Don’t just enroll your child in MGCNLCA; be a part of MGCNLCA—because one of God’s greatest gifts through the school is not the education your child receives, but the people He places beside you through this journey,” expressed Kimberly Perez. 

This sentiment was further affirmed by Batch 6 alumnus Fredrick Ivan Ho and Batch 4 alumna Chauntia Chan-Ang who each shared their own hope that the same love, care, and support the school community has extended to them throughout their life will likewise be shown to their children who are now students of MGCNLCA. Ho is now also giving back to the school as a retainer in the Senior High School Department. 

As the event came to a close, School Director Helen Villanueva assured new parents that they do not need to carry their child’s journey alone, as a strong community begins when families come together and form meaningful friendships, “We want MGCNLCA to become more than a place to study; we want this to become a home for the students.”
