New Lifers Secure Medals at HKISO 2025

Twenty-three MGC New Life Christian Academy students performed outstandingly in the national round of the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO), held online on November 9, 2025.

Securing gold and placing in the top 8% of their respective grade levels were Nathan Gohoc from Grade 6; Michiko Meredith Tiong, Johann Audric Chan, Raiden Kenzo Cabilangan, Sophie Alexa Hernandez, and Iora Megan Garcia from Grade 8; Abbie Gail Ang from Grade 9; and Kailey Alyssa Chua from Grade 12.

Following this, the silver medalists were Abigail Lorraine Tieng and Gabriel Howard Sze from Grade 5; Evan Michael Gaw and Anica Faith So from Grade 7; Jillian Cassidy Kaw from Grade 8; and Magnus Alexander Cabilangan from Grade 12.

Meanwhile, Mateo Javier Gutierrez from Grade 4; Lance Thierry Go from Grade 6; Liam Cedric Chao from Grade 7; Tyler Gavin Uy from Grade 8; Sean Matthew Go and Gavin Chase Go from Grade 9; Madeleine Christina Sy from Grade 10; and Krisha Anne Hernandez and Jazelle Dionne Lim from Grade 12 all garnered bronze medals.

The medalists of HKISO are qualified to join the international round, which is set to take place in Singapore in June 2026.

HKISO is an annual international competition open to Grade 2 to 12 students and consists of four main categories: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Integrated Science.
