A Story of Generosity: Moriah Students Perform Rendition of The Rainbow Fish
Clad in creative sea-creature costumes, Moriah students of MGC New Life Christian Academy (MCGNLCA) brought the children’s storybook “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister to life through a role-play performance held last November 26 in the auditorium.
In line with the students’ lesson on stories, each student delivered one to two lines that together formed a greater story. Every section of the role-play was followed by a singing performance, including an opening number, 赞美的孩子最喜乐, and a curtain call song, A Gift to You.
“The Rainbow Fish” tells the story of a proud, shimmering fish who initially refuses to share his glittering scales. However, he later discovers that being generous with his scales brings him more joy than keeping them to himself. Building on this, the students’ adaptation highlighted the story’s central theme by showing how sharing with others fosters genuine friendships and reflects God’s love for everyone.
School Principal Evangeline Co then emphasized to the students that just as sharing brings people together, sharing God’s love allows individuals to reflect His light to everyone around us.
Moriah E Homeroom Teacher Bhrittany Louis Go noted that one thing that stood out was the children showing remarkable courage in taking the stage. “The thought of being on stage and performing before an audience can be really intimidating, especially for kids their age, but they were very brave and excited,” said Go.
A ticketing system was implemented for parents and guests to watch this event, with all proceeds going to the MGCNLCA Outreach.
