Triumphs in Debate and Diplomacy: MGCNLCA MUN Earns Numerous Accolades

Throughout the past school year, the MGC New Life Christian Academy Model United Nations (MUN) Varsity has continued to excel in debate and diplomacy, bringing home over 50 awards across several conferences. 

International School Manila’s MUN LOCALS 2025: October 3 to 4, 2025

Starting off the year, Justine Bryce Sigua and Yejoon Cho of Olive secured the Best Delegate award; Hannah Isabelle Chiu of Olive won the Best Speaker award; Soleil Dionisio of Olive garnered the Most Diplomatic award; and Christian Lucas Garcia and Mikaela Denise Co of Olive, along with Sadie Bryanna Chen of Damascus all received Verbal Commendations. Moreover, Justine Kimberly Tan and Cailey Amielle Tin of Patmos both served as Head Chairs. 

5th Southern Luzon MUN Conference: October 24 to 26, 2025

All participating as members of the Board of Dais, Tan, Sigua, and Garcia served as a President, Vice Chair, and Academic Research Officer, respectively. 

Southville International School and Colleges MUN 2026: January 16 to 17, 2026

Cho was recognized as an Outstanding Delegate, while Elijah Samuel Tongco of Zion bagged a Verbal Commendation. 

7th Xavier MUN: January 23 to 25, 2026

Zion student Cate Gian Chua won the Best Judge Memorial; Chiu was recognized with an Honorable Mention; and Cho received a Verbal Commendation. Meanwhile, serving as members of the Board of Dais were Head Chairs Tan and Zion student Gabrielle Ruth Hablero, Vice Chair Sigua, and Rapporteurs Tin, Garcia, and Zion student Nadine Julianna Mateo. 

5th Assumption College MUN Conference: February 13 to 15, 2026

Bagging the Best Delegate award was Lauren Mielle Wong of Zion, while Baron Daniel Ong of Berea received a Verbal Commendation. Joining them were Hablero, Tan, and Tin as Head Chairs, Mateo as a Vice Chair, and Sigua as a Rapporteur. 

12th Yale MUN Taiwan: March 13 to 15, 2026

Garnering the Best Delegate award were Zion student Bianca Iyesha Sy, Sigua, and Cho. In addition to this, Olive student Adrian Zachary Liong and Chen both received the Honorable Mention award. Serving as Assistant Directors were Hablero and Mateo, with Hablero receiving a Community Award as well. 

1st Woodrose MUN: March 21 to 22, 2026

Receiving an Honorable Mention award was Natasha Malena Ortiga of Berea, while earning Verbal Commendations were Liam Kevin Chua of Patmos, Sachi Caitlyn Esteban of Damascus, and Jaden Conner Hao of Nazareth. Moreover, Mateo acted as Head Chair while Tin served as Rapporteur. 

2nd Immaculate Conception Academy MUN: March 28 to 29, 2026

Berea student Nina Isabelle Mateo earned the Best Position Paper and Verbal Commendation awards, while in the Board of Dais, Hablero served as Head Chair, Tan and Sigua as Vice Chairs, and Garcia as a Rapporteur. 

1st Jubilee Christian Academy MUN: April 11 to 12, 2026

Named as Outstanding Delegate was Sophia Jadrine Sy of Patmos, while Peach Oribelle Diño of Zion and Amara Marie Oleta of Patmos both received Verbal Commendations. Meanwhile, Hablero was appointed as Head Chair, while Tan, Sigua, and Mateo served as Rapporteurs. 

MUN is a simulation of the United Nations where delegates take on the role of representing different countries to collaborate, debate, and propose possible solutions for global issues within their respective committees and agendas.
