New Lifer Awarded Filipino-Chinese Outstanding Student Award
Graduating student Faith Caitlin Ng was honored with the 33rd Filipino-Chinese Outstanding Student Award (第三十三届菲华杰出学生奖), a recognition of her outstanding Chinese language skills and achievement as one of the top 12 awardees.
The selection process started in August 2025, with 24 representatives chosen three months later. The representatives then took a 50-minute written exam and a panel interview on January 17, after which the top 12 were chosen.
Ng is the third New Lifer to receive the award, following Batch 14’s Alyana Zoie Chua and Batch 18’s Shawn Darren Chua.
“Walking into a competition against the top Chinese students from all across the country was far from easy,” Ng shared. “But looking back, I see how God transformed this daunting experience into an opportunity to improve my mastery of the language, meet new friends, and be reminded of His grace.
Founded in 1993, this competition is hosted annually by the Philippine Chinese Education Research Center. Now in its 33rd iteration, it aims to bring together Filipino-Chinese students and recognize their abilities in the Chinese language.
